The "Wall" of New York's Wall Street was raised because of him. William and Anne Marbury Hutchinson were mentors and intimate friends of the Dyers. The Dyers' descendants became governors and senators in New England--and a President or two can claim them as ancestors.

I found this book very informative. I appreciated the amount of research that went into this and the objective treatment of who these people were in the context of the times they lived in. I have a special interest in this because I am a descendant of Mary Dyer, Anne Hutchinson, and Roger Williams (Dyer's son, Samuel, married Hutchinson's granddaughter, Anne, and then their son, Edward, married Mary Green, a great grand daughter of Roger Williams). I've been reading quite a bit about this period, but I still learned a lot from this book. I am presently reading Christy's novel on this subject , Mary Dyer Illuminated, and it is very interesting.Product details

Ok book, but it reads like the self published book it is. Properly edited, the "book" would probably not be book length.

Anyone who is curious about the Dyers, this is a good place to get started.
Christy Robinson managed to immerse me in the time and places of my ancestors, not just the Dyers but many other families who immigrated through Boston in the 1630s. I recommend this to anyone who would like to understand the daily life of our ancestors.
Interesting historical account of the Dyers based on real documents. It is considered a companion to the historical fiction based on the life of Mary Dyer (Volumes 1 & 2 by Christy Robinson)
Christy K Robinson's non fiction book about Mary Dyer and her family is an excellent edition to her historical novels , Mary Dyer Illuminated, and Mary Dyer, For Such A Time As This. Mary's extraordinary life and her contribution to the adaptation of our Bill of Rights is thoroughly explored by Ms. Robinson, who also happens to be her descendant. If you are a fan of 17th century history like me, and thought you knew Mary Dyer's incredible story, think again. This is a must read for fans of both nonfiction biographies and historical novels. Mary was an exceptionally intelligent, eloquent, and brave woman, and a light in the midst of a dark time in what would eventually become American history.
I have thoroughly enjoyed this nonfiction companion to the two-part Mary Dyer series. First of all, as an elementary school teacher, I appreciate the organization and detail (and timelines) that have been put into the writing of this book. It is a joy to read well-written material. I also value the primary sources that are presented. These things put together constitute a book that reveals (and presents to readers) a depth of understanding of the Dyers and the times in which they lived. I have seldom encountered such clearly presented (and interesting) ideas in nonfiction. Well done!
