This book is my favorite in the series, by far! You meet Yancey's mate, Myles is starting to come around the idea of taking his mate and Sue has found hers. He's Tavs beta. Three couples, feeling each other out. There's heart ache, danger lurking around every corner, men screwing up, love loss, etc. This story was jammed packed full of action, love, couples and family! I was so absorbed in this story from begining to end. It was so hard to put the book down to do anything. Its great reading about Sue finding her mate and getting her happy ending. And it was heart breaking to see how Ashley and Philly were treated by there mates (Myles and Yancey). Mik, yet again, steps in to protect his family, help everyone heal and try to bring his family back together. Family torn between loved ones, Myles and Yancey have a lot groveling to do to their mates if they want to keep them. This story sets up Yancey and Myles stories. It doesnt say how they end, but it leaves you drooling for more and bugging the author for the next one in the series! :D*I will forewarn, if your not one for cliffhangers, dont read this book till the next ones in the series come out!!!*

I recently read Family Matters which was released this week. It was a great novel. I became very involved with the characters. Going through events with Philly, one of the main characters in the book, cause me to tear up more than once. I loved the way so many people came to her protection after hearing what happened and felt so protective of her. It was a very emotional part of the novel.
Sue and Peyton left me frustrated through most of the novel. They would come just this close to having sex, and get interrupted every time.It is comical how many different ways a person can be sexually and not go bonkers. The other thing I really liked about Sue and Peyton's story was that it was a just out of college romance. I am an older reader and appreciate older women having romances.
The Ashley/Myles story-line is brilliant. I love that Ms. Massa left us wondering what happens next. I can't wait for the next book to see what happens next. I was impressed that while not everyone has a happy ending in this novel, we are introduced to four very strong, empowered women who are able to chose their own destiny rather than acquiesce the patriarchal decision.
I love the diversity in this book as well. While there aren't a melting pot of cultures in this novel, there are several different cultures and Ms. Massa introduces us to Kiki who is a strong supporting character in this story.
I am familiar with the area of the country that this book takes place and while reading I was able to imagine myself walking through the woods or driving down I-95 from North Carolina to Georgia. Ms Massa's writing style is very descriptive and detailed. I feel she did a great job with this one and the ending left me anxious to see what happens next. I hope we don't have to wait too long for the next segment.
